Lies of P developers have confirmed that the patch bringing the Overture DLC to the game will introduce new difficulty options and a boss rush game mode.
Lies of P Difficulty Options and Boss Rush Mode
According to a report by TechRadar, Lies of P will introduce two new difficulty options: “Butterfly’s Guidance” and “Awakened Puppet.” The original difficulty of the game will be available as “Legendary Stalker,” making it three options to choose from. It is definitely a surprising move for a souls-like game to feature difficulty options; however, it might be a smart move to get more players on the game before the DLC and the sequel drop.
Moreover, the Lies of P Overture DLC will introduce a new game mode, Battle Memories. This boss rush game mode allows players to take on bosses from the base game and the Overture expansion. There’s also a Death March game mode, which will challenge players to battle three bosses consecutively with limited resources. The new difficulty options and game modes will be available as a free update.
The game director for Lies of P, Jiwon Choi, explained that adding difficulty options to the game was based on “a lot of feedback from customers” and their developers. Neowiz wants to ensure that a wider audience can experience the title, so they are making “development adjustments” and adding these difficulty options as it “broadens the base” and allows “different types of players” to experience the game.
Lies of P: Overture DLC has yet to receive a release date; however, details about the expansion have surfaced. The upcoming DLC will be a prequel story to the base game and will be accessible through chapter 9. Overture mostly contains cut content from the base game, and with the addition of this DLC, the developers feel that it delivers Lies of P the way it was supposed to be experienced.
