DOOM: The Dark Ages offers a generous single-player campaign packed with Chapters. With so many games to play in this day and age, it’s understandable to want to know how long it takes to beat and how much content you have left to enjoy.
At some point, I became very fixated and aware of how long I’m playing a game for. I hate idly racking up gameplay hours while I’m AFK as it falsifies numbers. There’s so much more to consider with game lengths and content, too, which leads us nicely to DOOM: The Dark Ages‘ game length and how many chapters it has.
The journey has to start, but it also has to end at some point.
How Many Chapters Does DOOM: The Dark Ages Have?

DOOM: The Dark Ages has 22 jam-packed Chapters taking you from the beginning moments of the game until the dramatic conclusion.
This ups the ante from DOOM (2016) and DOOM: Eternal. Believe me when I say these levels can take you a while—depending on your desire to sweep up collectibles and the difficulty setting you choose.

How Long Does it Take to Beat DOOM: The Dark Ages?
16-20 hours is a standard number to complete DOOM: The Dark Ages for the first time, but the number starts to creep up depending on a couple of factors.
For a typical playthrough of The Dark Ages, let’s say you’re playing on Hurt Me Plenty difficulty, and you’re occasionally going out of your way to find treasures and hidden-away Gold, the above figure is correct.
If you turn up the difficulty to Ultra-Violence or Nightmare, you can add another hour or two onto the runtime due to additional deaths and replaying of combat encounters.
The Dark Ages Chapters are positively littered with secrets. You can find many of them if you consult the minimap often, to be honest. Nevertheless, if you want a full completionist run—and if you’re going for trophies and achievements—then I would put the overall playtime closer to 25 hours or more.
Levels can last upwards of an hour if you’re on a higher difficulty and hunting down collectibles. However you approach 2025’s DOOM, know you’re getting a lot of bang for your buck!
