Epic Games’ annual Mega Sale kicks off tomorrow, May 15, and it’s suggested that Fortnite players will be treated to free cosmetics as part of the event.
The annual event rivals Steam’s own Steam Fest, providing great deals and goodies for players, and prominent leaker ShiinaBR says it’s likely the event will “include free cosmetics.”
Fortnite is due for the second of its weekly updates tomorrow as part of the Galactic Battle mini season, which will bring Chewbacca into the fray alongside his famous Wookiee Bowcaster and the new CA-87 Jawa Scatter Blaster, but it sounds like it’s worth keeping an eye on socials and the Item Shop for deals.
Free gifts as part of the sale have been available for each of the past four years, and there’s already a bunch of free skins you can earn, including the First Order Stormtrooper.
What Has Fortnite Previously Given Out During Epic Mega Sale?

Last year’s Epic Mega Sale dished out the Grindspeed Wrap and Codeshear Cloak Back Bling, which was the first year that the free goodies didn’t include a skin.
In 2023, the Underworld Desdemona was dished out for free, while 2022 provided the Volcanic Assassin Pack, and 2021 saw the Street Shadows Challenge Pack gifted.
With the ongoing Star Wars-themed season, fans will hope that a collab skin will be on the offering, or could we finally see Lightsabers as Pickaxes? We’ll have to wait and find out.
The exact method of claiming any free skins also remains to be seen, though previous years have seen rewards made available by completing in-game challenges—and that approach has become the standard for Fortnite with free rewards.
We’ll have the full details on any freebies as soon as they drop, so make sure to keep tuned in!
