Earlier today, a PlayStation social media account accidentally posted an image of an upcoming, soon-to-drop title update for Helldivers 2 named ‘Heart of Democracy’. It was accompanied by a May 20th release date, but the post was taken down shortly after being published.
The visuals and message associated with the post suggest that the most recent Helldivers 2 update is little more than a staging ground for something monumental that could lead to an immense, ultimate battle taking place on Super Earth.
Not Again
PlayStation has been on a leaking spree recently. Days ago, a social media team accidentally published a trailer for Stellar Blade on PC, revealing the release date and all the upgrades coming next month.
This time, the Czech PlayStation social media team has leaked a major and daunting update for Helldivers 2, dubbed ‘Heart of Democracy’.
It’s set to be released on May 20, but details are scarce – because, you know, the announcement hasn’t happened yet.
The image of the now-removed leak was posted on social media by user Iron_S1ghts.
This leak has led players to believe that the recent Helldivers 2 update, focused on the Illuminate, was just a toe-dip in anticipation of a major attack on Super Earth.
On Reddit, one user explained a possible outcome:
The in-game messages make it known as such. All of the current objectives are literally just trying to weaken or slow the invasion fleets advance.
All roads lead to a final showdown on Super Earth.
Some have even questioned whether this is the end of the line for Helldivers 2, with the live-service model collapsing under the weight of imposing alien forces little more than a year after the game was released.
If players can stem the tide of whatever is coming, perhaps we’ll see more yet.
