Is The Precinct Coming to Xbox Game Pass?

An adventure on the other side of the law than you may be used to is coming in The Precinct, launching May 13, and if you’re wondering whether the title is coming to Xbox Game Pass, you’re in the right spot.

The top-down adventure, inspired by the Grand Theft Auto titles of old, flicks the switch on the establishment by putting players in control of police officers themselves, tasked with cleaning up the streets.

If this sounds right up your alley, but you want to know whether you can expect The Precinct to launch on Game Pass, we’ve got all the details you need.

The Precinct has not been announced as landing on Xbox Game Pass anytime soon.

While many titles make the drop on Xbox Game Pass as a day one launch, the majority are first-party games from Microsoft studios and The Precinct does not fall into that category.

An agreement between the developer, Fallen Tree Games, would therefore have to be reached to bring The Precinct to Game Pass and, as we rapidly approach launch and we’ve not seen the title announced as arriving on the subscription service, we can assume it won’t be available.

Usually, games releasing on Xbox Game Pass are announced well in advance to build up hype and, as we’ve seen none of that, don’t expect it to be landing in your library.

On the bright side, you won’t be short of places to play The Precinct as the title is coming to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Will The Precinct Come to Xbox Game Pass?

The Precinct’s future on Xbox Game Pass is purely speculation, but it could come to the service in the future, though it’s far from a guarantee.

A spot for The Precinct in the Game Pass catalogue in the future may depend on how well the game performs, as, if sales numbers are high, there’s little reason for the developer to seek a deal.

However, if numbers fall below what they’d like, opening the door to Game Pass inclusion could result in a larger player base.

A cause for concern may be due to Xbox’s May 2025 Game Pass announcement, which includes Police Simulator: Patrol Officers. With that title available for free with the subscription, The Precinct may suffer a hit.

All of these is purely speculative at this time, however, so all I can advise is that if you want to play The Precinct as soon as you can, it’s time to fork out and grab the game as you may be waiting a long while for a Game Pass appearance.
