The first GTA 6 trailer was Earth-shattering for many reasons. We learned that the game is basically set in Florida and who the main characters are, but Trailer 2 for GTA 6 should tell us much more about the game and maybe reveal the first-ever official gameplay.
We all remember where we were on Dec. 4, 2023. “Grand Theft Auto VI Trailer 1” was released on YouTube. Its 1 minute and 30 seconds of footage reached fever pitch on social media. Its captivating cinematic presentation already sets the tone for the nature of the game’s content
Since then, it’s racked up a quarter of a million views and over 12 million likes. The people are hungry for more, so we’ve rounded up the latest rumors and leaks regarding GTA 6‘s anticipated second trailer.
Do we Know When GTA 6 Trailer 2 Releases?
Rockstar Games has yet to announce the GTA 6 Trailer 2 release date, but it could be soon.
Firstly, if you’ve seen a GTA 6 Trailer 2 date announced, don’t believe it. This is either an April Fool’s Joke still doing the rounds or being boosted by engagement, or an outright lie. Trailer 1 is all we have for now, and nothing says otherwise.
Secondly, a rumor indicates GTA 6 Trailer 2 could appear during Summer Game Fest. If it does, it’s likely being saved for the Summer Game Fest 2025 Showcase—the main presentation lasting a couple of hours or so. Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to verify this theory yet, so we’d be cautious about believing this.
We think Trailer 2 could arrive at one of two points during 2025: In May before Take-Two Interactive’s next earnings call, or there will be an official update later in the year, around the time of the next earnings call after this.
Take-Two Earnings Calls
Take-Two like to release trailers a day or two before their earnings calls to help boost figures and increase stock prices. With the next one around the corner (as of writing) and the world watching, don’t be surprised if Trailer 2 is in the next 30 days or so.
If not, and it’s not Summer Game Fest, the next big update is likely to be around August or September before the next one. But this might not be a trailer and could very well be announcing a delay for GTA 6, as it’s likely to be too late in the year and too short a turnaround between trailer and release date.
Do we Know When GTA 6 is Coming Out?
There is still no official GTA 6 release date, which is keeping the games industry on high alert.
We amused ourselves with a 2025 April Fool’s about GTA 6 releasing on Xbox 360—imagine. But Take-Two is happy to take things slow and create enormous anticipation for the game.
But every bit of GTA 6 news has a big impact on everyone else. It’s believed a GTA 6 delay could tank other companies, with publishers unwilling to announce release dates and declare delays to avoid clashing with GTA 6.
We’ll have to wait and see what Take-Two and Rockstar Games do.
