The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Remake started way back. The rumors intensified in March 2025, and it seemed like an announcement was imminent. As I write this handy hub, Bethesda hasn’t officially confirmed the existence of the remastered title—but this doesn’t mean it won’t.
However, a significant Oblivion Remake leak hit the headlines on April 15, and we’ve learned even more information since.
Can You Play Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Remake on Xbox Game Pass?
It’s not official, but according to Xbox Support, The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remake launches as a day-one incentive for eligible Xbox Game Pass subscribers.
An April 16 discovery found that if you interact with Xbox Support and ask it about the Oblivion Remaster release date, it divulges the release date, details on the DLC, and its Xbox Game Pass status.
With the right prompt, Xbox Support says: “It is confirmed to be a day-one launch title on Xbox Game Pass, which strongly suggests it will be available for cloud gaming through Xbox Cloud Gaming.“
A lot of users reported getting the same answer. We’re reportedly days away from the Oblivion Remaster getting a shadow drop. So there’s a good chance you’ll know for sure if the remaster is on Game Pass the same as us!

You can play pretty much any Bethesda game on Xbox Game Pass. This goes from retro classics like Skyrim to modern-day wonders in Starfield. This is likely a huge part of the arrangement, so this probably continues with the rumored Oblivion Remaster.
