Days Gone Remastered puts a fresh coat of paint on the post-apocalyptic zombie-inspired game. Here is everything you need to know about the game’s release date and times.
After several delays, Days Gone launched in 2019 and received mixed reviews. The story follows Deacon St. John as he tries to survive in Oregon two years after a pandemic killed most of humanity, leaving behind zombie-like creatures called Freakers.
Despite the divisive reception, Days Gone has a passionate fan base, and Studio Bend reportedly pitched a sequel to keep the series going. Unfortunatley for those fans, Bend Studio suffered layoffs when its live-service project was canceled. This dashed most hopes for a series continuation, leaving Days Gone Remastered as the only silver lining.
Days Gone Remastered Release Date
Days Gone Remastered officially launches for PlayStation 5 and PC on April 24.
If you own Days Gone, upgrading to the remastered edition only costs $10. If this is your first time playing the game, Days Gone Remastered costs $49.99.
Bend Studio creative and product lead Kevin McAllister explained why fans should upgrade: “Six years after the original, technology has improved–we have the power of the PS5 now. There was a lot more we could do to showcase the game’s potential.”
In addition to graphical improvements on newer hardware, several new gameplay features have been added. Horde sizes have been increased from around 500 to 800 Freakers on-screen. Horde Assault is a new mode that puts enemies in different places and increases the difficulty.
Meanwhile, Speedrun is another new mode that tracks how long it takes to complete the game, and Permadeath mode challenges players not to die, and if they do, the game restarts.
