Nintendo consoles have always been aimed towards a younger audience, with franchises such as Super Mario, Donkey Kong, and Kirby being very accessible to new and young gamers. 5. Just Dance 2023
Just Dance 2023 is not only a great game for parties but it is a great choice for children too. It is incredibly fun to dance along to songs by the likes of Harry Styles, Taylor Swift, and Bruno Mars. The game helps to keep children active and improve their coordination skills, and sometimes it’s fun to dance like no one is watching and have fun.

4. Splatoon 3
Competitive shooting games are among the most popular games today, but most aren’t suitable for young children. Splatoon 3 brings the competitive shooter genre to a family-friendly audience with its cartoon graphics and use of paint to try and color the map more than your opponent. It won’t be long before most young gamers move onto games such as Call of Duty and Fortnite, but until they get to the appropriate age, Splatoon 3 is a great introduction to the genre.
3. Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu/Eevee
Pokémon is the perfect introduction to the RPG genre for younger gamers. It is bright, colorful, not really violent, and who doesn’t love collecting hundreds of cute Pokémon? There isn’t really a bad game to start with, and the Nintendo Switch has multiple options, but I would suggest the Let’s Go remakes of the original Pokémon Yellow. This game is more simplified compared to other entries due to the Pokémon Go mechanics that are included. This will be much easier for newer gamers to get used to and if they already play Pokémon Go then the transition will be more seamless.

2. Super Mario Bros. Wonder
When it comes to family-friendly Nintendo games, the first series that should come to mind is Super Mario. The latest game, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, was released just a few days ago and will be a great entry into the series for children due to its 2D style which makes it simpler to understand and get to grips with. If you want to jump into 3D Mario then Super Mario Odyssey is a great choice on the Nintendo Switch.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe served as a launch title on the Nintendo Switch after having previously released on the Wii U. Since then, it has become the best-selling game on the Nintendo Switch. It has recently been expanded with 48 new courses, which takes the total to 96, giving gamers plenty of content to experience. Whether you’re a young gamer, an avid gamer, or a family, Mario Kart is the perfect game to play.
