Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Final Trailer Promises an Adventure for The Ages

Nintendo has dropped the final trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and it teases yet another unforgettable adventure along with the return of an old foe.

The trailer is introduced by series producer Eiji Aonuma who promises “a vast world that seamlessly connects surface and sky” and an “unfamiliar” Hyrule. The trailer establishes a sense of grandiose adventure and showcases the variety of new locations players will be able to explore across both land and sky.

Plot details surrounding Tears of the Kingdom have been kept tightly under wraps but the final trailer offers some hints at where the story is set to go. The biggest takeaway is the appearance of Link’s old nemesis Ganon, who more closely resembles his counterparts in other timelines and seems to be voiced by industry veteran Matt Mercer.

The trailer suggests that Ganon is once again somehow responsible for disaster befalling Hyrule with Link and Master Sword being the final line of defense against the tyrant. One of the final shots seems to suggest that Link will once again be gathering allies to aid him in his quest to bring down Ganon.

Most of the three-minute runtime is made up of a sizzle reel that highlights the scope of Hyrule and Link’s new abilities which were on full display at last month’s Nintendo Direct. We’re only a month away from the release of Tears of the Kingdom and the final trailer is the perfect appetizer ahead of the game’s launch.

A limited edition Tears of the Kingdom Switch OLED is available to pre-order and is set to release later this month ahead of the game’s launch alongside a pro-controller case which features designs from the game.
