A new report reveals that XBOX Year in Review is coming back in 2026, but it will be called ‘XBOX Playback’ instead for the 25th Anniversary.
Every gaming platform now has its own version of a Year in Review, with PlayStation using ‘Wrap-Up’ and Nintendo using Year-in-Review; Xbox did the same until 2024. This approach helps players look back at their gaming for the year, with all their statistics presented in cool, platform-themed infographics, and it seems XBOX is changing things up in 2026.
XBOX Playback Provides Even More Information
Spotted and verified by WindowsCentral, a new post on X (formerly Twitter) by redphx shows players what the new XBOX Playback infographics look like; however, it is not publicly available yet. The new version first shows players their #1 played game of all time, then goes on to show other details like since when they have been an XBOX player, their first friend, their first console, their first achievement, their first game, and their first game with 100% achievements completed.
It provides additional details such as total playing time across their time with XBOX, total games played, top genre, year with most playtime, year with highest Gamerscore, and year with most games played. The infographic also provides new visuals for which platform you played on the most.

The last page offers additional information, including total time played, total Gamerscore, total achievements, top achievements, how players ranked against others, their top 5 titles, and the game with the highest Gamerscore, most achievements, and most sessions. There’s also a neat share version of XBOX Playback that provides all the information in a short format.
With XBOX Playback, the devs seem to be aiming to provide an overarching view of players’ entire journey on XBOX, rather than just stats for that specific year.
