If it were up to him, Pocketpair CEO Takuru Mizobi says he would love Palworld to be available on the Nintendo Switch 2. The console is more powerful than its predecessor, allowing it to handle the performance requirements needed for a game like Palworld.
Unfortunately, it’s not up to him.
Speaking in a recent interview with VGC, Mizobi was asked about bringing the game to Nintendo’s latest console. After praising the console for its features and what it means for the Japanese gaming market, he said he’d be open to talking with Nintendo about the possibility.
“If there’s ever a future where we have the opportunity to discuss or consider bringing Palworld to the Switch platform in some way, then we’d love to have those conversations,” he said.
Right now, it’s tough to have those conversations with ongoing litigation between the parties. Nintendo is suing Pocketpair for patent infringement for features included in older versions of Palworld. Though some of those features, like throwing a Pal sphere to call in a Pal, have been removed, the case is moving forward.
The Tokyo District Court is scheduled to issue a preliminary view next month, on November 9.
