ID Software, best known for making the DOOM franchise, is like the latest major Studio to be affected by the recent “big reset” XBOX has undergone.
News first came to light on July 7, 2026, that 50% of the staff at ID had been laid off. Now, updated reports from the Texas Workforce Commission reveal that ZeniMax Media (Bethesda) has laid off 158 people in Texas.
Of those 158, 96 redundancies were made at ID Software’s office in Richardson, Texas. Additionally, 40 remote workers who reported to that office were let go.
