There’s a Luxurious Golden Xbox Controller On The Way

For the more prestigious gamer, only the finest things in life are applicable – and that includes golden controllers. Well, the ‘Gold Shadow’ special edition Xbox controller that was just revealed might not be made of gold, but it still looks pretty luxurious.

Microsoft revealed this fancy-looking controller and stated it’s available to pre-order right now. It’s an attractive affair, boasting a gradient-painted design of carbon black fading into a rich golden hue. There’s plenty of black detailing to make that gold layer really pop, and it boasts some additional features that aren’t included in the standard, base controller.

Gold Shadow Looks Super Pretty

It’s certainly elegant. For those interested in the Gold Shadow controller, we’ll point out that it has rubberised grips to help out with those sweatier gaming sessions, textured grips on the triggers and bumpers, and of course, the end-to-end Xbox Wireless and Bluetooth connectivity solution that we’ve seen in the stock of controllers of late.

Like other units, the Gold Shadow controller can be remapped to suit every gamer’s needs, it boasts a 3.5mm headset jack, and it’s USB-C compatible. It still takes AA batteries, but honestly, they do last a good forty or fifty hours, depending on the type of batteries used – so that’s still not a problem in 2023.

Are you interested in the Gold Shadow controller? It’s available to pre-order now for around $69.99 / £64.99 – it’ll be released on the 17th of October.
