A sequel to the extremely popular soulslike Wuchang: Fallen Feathers has been officially announced following the acquisition of the intellectual property rights by Digital Game Group.
Launched in July 2025, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers achieved over 130,000 concurrent players on Steam at launch and reached over five million players worldwide across all platforms.
Given that success, it’s not surprising that plans to expand the Wuchang IP further are in place, and a sequel to the game has now been officially announced.
Sequel to Wuchang: Fallen Feathers Officially Announced
In a press release, it was announced that 505 Games and Indolphinity have entered into a development and publishing agreement “for a new chapter of the Wuchang series.”
The agreement details that Indolphinity, a studio founded by Xia Siyuan, will lead the creative development of the sequel, with 505 Games funding and publishing the game globally.
Additionally, it was announced that “all future creative development will remain firmly rooted in China through the close collaboration between the original creator and 505 Games, ensuring the continuity of vision, quality, and execution.”
As part of this, to further support development and publishing activities, rights holder Digital Bros Group will establish a dedicated subsidiary in Chengdu, which will “work closely with the studio and further reinforce the Group’s strategic commitment to the Chinese game development ecosystem.”
The announcement comes after major changes to the team behind Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, which was reportedly dissolved in April following the firing of the game’s director.
It was then announced at the end of April that the IP was sold for over $4.5m by the aforementioned Digital Bros Group.
