I’ve always wanted a massive open-world action-adventure game set in Feudal Japan. Sure, there’s Ghost of Tsushima coming soon to PC, but that’s engrossing—if you know what I mean. It’s nice to have a popcorn game set in a land I would love to explore, like recent Assassin’s Creed titles. That’s part of why I’m—like you—so excited for Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Here’s what we know about the game’s reveal!
When Will Ubisoft Reveal Assassin’s Creed Shadows?
According to sources, Insider Gaming recently uncovered the potential reveal date for Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Supposedly, we’ll see more about the upcoming mainline entry, including official gameplay from Ubisoft, at the Ubisoft Forward on June 10. Furthermore, during the Summer Game Fest on June 12, creators and press will receive hands-on access to the game briefly.
If true, that’s a little over one month away until we see official details about Assassin’s Creed Red, like genuine gameplay, more about the setting, and mechanics. I’m beyond excited, how about you?!

Is Assassin’s Creed Shadows a Stealth or RPG Game?
Currently, the Assassin’s Creed community remains divided between two camps: RPG and Stealth. The more recent Assassin’s Creed games like Valhalla and Odyssey follow a more expansive, RPG-like open-world formula. They have crafting, settlement construction, quests, and loot mechanics with increasingly powerful gear.
But if you’re eagerly awaiting a new stealth-focused entry, like the original franchise, then you’re likely to be disappointed by Assassin’s Creed Shadows. The word is that it’s more akin to the RPG entries of recent years than the originals.
