Visions of Mana Not Releasing on Game Pass

According to a new report from Eurogamer, Visions of Mana will not release on Game Pass. Fans expected the game to launch onto Game Pass on day one.

However, a spokesperson from Microsoft reached out to Eurogamer with a full statement:

“We’re aware that Xbox.com included language that indicated Visions of Mana was coming to Xbox Game Pass and can confirm this was an error.”

The spokesperson added that “we do not have plans to bring Visions of Mana to Game Pass at this time”.

Visions of Mana Game Pass

Square Enix first announced Visions of Mana during The Game Awards 2023. It’s the first title in the hit RPG series in over a decade.

After such a long wait, fans are surely disappointed that the game won’t reach Game Pass audiences.

It’s possible that the subscription service may still add it later on. The spokesperson states “at this time”. And after all, it’s strange for Microsoft to list a game and then retract that information.

Visions of Mana will be available PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.

The release window for Visions of Mana is currently set for summer 2024. But Square Enix has not confirmed a concrete release date yet.

The story is set in Tianeea, the Fire Village, where a major festival sets the hero Val and their childhood friend on an adventure.

Square Enix recently announced plans to diversify and slim down their lineup.

So, there may be more original IP on the way rather than more installments in the Visions of Mana universe.

The new Square Enix president has ambitious plans, and recently announced the company could be more aggressive with AI going forward.
