As part of today’s Triple-I Initiative event, a new trailer for Vampire Survivors confirms that it will be ported to PlayStation in summer 2024. The port will support both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
While the trailer did offer a release window, it did not confirm an exact release date. However, it did surprise fans by announcing a Contra collaboration DLC.
Titled Vampire Survivors: Operation Guns, the DLC will roll out on May 9th. It’ll be available on PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and even mobile devices. Luckily, fans got a glimpse at some gameplay from the upcoming DLC, including a welcome nod to Brad Fang.
Vampire Survivors was an instant hit when it first launched in 2022. Its twists on the genre ultimately led to a variety of imitators, but the original game still has a major fanbase.
Vampire Survivors fans will appreciate the new PlayStation port, especially with last-gen support. Many had already speculated that a PlayStation 5 version was coming. But longtime PlayStation fans are likely pleased that they won’t need to upgrade their console to play Vampire Survivors.
Since the PlayStation port release window is officially set for summer, fans can probably expect a release date relatively soon. It should only take a couple of months for the devs to commit to something concrete.
The release date could potentially land somewhere around the Contra DLC, to continue building off of its hype.
