Ultra Pro Wrestling (UPW), the upcoming wrestling game that harkens back to the games from the late 1990s and early 2000s, has announced a new partnership with Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) to bring the long-running promotion to the game.
The agreement will see OVW added to the game as DLC to UPW in 2025 after the game’s launch.
“This agreement between UPW and OVW is a milestone in wrestling gaming,” Hyperfocus Games director and lead developer of UPW Sam Vallely said. “By integrating OVW’s storied legacy and current dynamism into UPW’s multi-promotion platform, we’re not just expanding our videogame – we’re honouring the history and ongoing impact of one of wrestling’s most influential organisations.”
When it launches, the OVW DLC will include OVW championship titles, the Davis Arena where OVW broadcasts its weekly show from, OVW branding, and current OVW wrestlers. The specific wrestlers, Vallely says, will be announced at a later date along with complete details on everything coming with the DLC.
UPW is currently in development from Hyperfocus Games, and is expected to release in late 2024 for Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
