Tides of Annihilation has just received a stunning new trailer at Gamescom’s Opening Night Live showcase, with Eclipse Glow Studio unveiling two minutes of cinematic content. The trailer also confirmed that Angela Sant’Albano, who most recently played Grace Ashcroft in Resident Evil Requiem, is the new voice of Gwendolyn, the game’s protagonist.
She steps into the role weeks after Jennifer English departed production, citing personal health concerns. Eclipse Glow Studios has yet to confirm a release date for Tides of Annihilation, but it’s shaping up very nicely.
Tides of Annihilation’s New Lead is Confirmed
At the Opening Night Live showcase broadcast to kick-start this year’s Gamescom event, Eclipse Glow Studios presented an all-new trailer for Tides of Annihilation, the highly anticipated and stylish action title set in Arthurian London. It’s a post-apocalyptic, high-octane game with ethereal powers, immense, godlike bosses, and a cinematic narrative.
Much of that was revealed in the game’s newest trailer, which was revealed during Opening Night Live:
In the trailer, we see our heroine, Gwendolyn, wrestling with the revelation of her new life, stranded in a devastated replication of modern-day London, now split between two ‘mirror realms’ torn apart by otherworldly entities.
The trailer also confirmed that Angela Sant’Albano is the new voice behind Gwendolyn, who is quickly becoming one of the most recognizable characters in the genre. And it showcased two new characters: Guinevere and Sir Lancelot.
Speaking on the announcement, Sant’Albano said:
I am beyond thrilled—and deeply honored—to officially announce that I’m stepping into the role of Gwendolyn in Tides of Annihilation.
Gwen is the kind of heroine I love. She carries self-doubt, constantly questioning whether she’s enough, but she refuses to let fear make her stand still.
Everything she does is driven by love for her sister and her homeland, and I think that’s what makes her strength feel so human. Getting to step into her boots, facing otherworldly demigods, and commanding Knights of the Round Table has been an absolute privilege.
Also announced today is the news that Tides of Annihilation will have full language support for eleven languages, including Brazilian Portuguese.
This week, visitors to Gamescom can play Tides of Annihilation, enjoying a portion of a demo I experienced weeks ago in China, alongside the developers from Eclipse Glow Studio.
