If you’ve ever wanted to be the pursuer and not be pursued in a police chase, The Precinct should take your fancy. Fallen Tree Games’ cop simulator allows you to use your powers for good over evil, and The Precinct offering Early Access would be an early parole.
In The Precinct, you are a police officer: You fight crime, bring down criminals, and use any means necessary. You progress through the game, you level up your skills, add new gear to your inventory, and become a better cop.
If you’re looking to get your hands on the cop simulator and try to avenge our honorable rookie cop—Officer Nick Cordell Jr.—Early Access would be a great way to get started. So let’s see if Fallen Tree Games is offering anything of the sort.
Can You Play The Precinct Early Access?

The Precinct does not have Early Access, meaning you must wait for the official release date to clean up the streets.
That’s metaphorically cleaning up the streets, you understand, unless there’s a sweeping mini-game I’m unaware of. Poor banter aside, The Precinct is only available from May 13, and it has a universal date across all platforms where you can purchase the game.
You won’t find a special edition with two, three, or five days of Early Access. Patience is a virtue, well, unless you’re on PC.
Does The Precinct Have a Demo?
You can try The Precinct before you buy, courtesy of its free demo—but it’s only downloadable on PC through Steam.
Yes, if you’re on PlayStation or Xbox, you still need to wait until launch. But if you’re on PC and have access to the Steam store, you can download The Precinct demo.
Here’s how you can play it:
- Head to the Steam store.
- Search for The Precinct.
- Click on the game page.
- Scroll down to Download The Precinct Demo.
- Choose the download button.
- Wait for it to install, and then you can play it right away!
