Naughty Dog Issues An Update on The Last of Us Multiplayer Game

Following Sony’s disappointing PlayStation showcase, Naughty Dog has issued an update on its The Last of Us Multiplayer game.

Taking to Twitter, the developer said, “We know many of you have been looking forward to hearing more about our The Last of Us Multiplayer game. We’re incredibly proud of the job our studio has done thus far, but as development has continued, we’ve realized what is best for the game is to give it more time.”

“Our team will continue to work on the project, as well as our other games in development, including a brand new single-player experience; we look forward to sharing more soon.”

We’re grateful to our fantastic community for your support – Thank you for your passion for our games, it continues to drive us.”

The lack of showing of the game at the PlayStation Showcase led fans to speculate that it could appear at this year’s Summer Games Fest. Unfortunately though, based on this statement, we might need to wait a little bit longer.

The Last of Us Multiplayer originally was planned to be a multiplayer gamemode for The Last of Us 2, but as development continued, the mode eventually became its own game. On March 13, The Last of Us director Neil Druckmann said in a “spoilercast” video that we’ll “hear much more about” The Last of Us multiplayer game at some point later this year.

What do you think of Naughty Dogs’ announcement on The Last of Us Multiplayer?
