Stellar Blade Studio Shift Up Expands Self-Publishing Plans

Shift Up, the studio behind Stellar Blade, is increasing its focus on self-publishing future projects. New job listings on the company’s website cite a desire to expand the studio’s self-publishing capabilities in an effort to “support internally developed titles across console and PC platforms.”

Such job listings include “Communications Manager,” “Creative Lead,” and “Marketing Manager.” All listings note that they are seeking someone with 5 years of experience in the gaming industry. Shift Up also wants a candidate with prior self-publishing experience. It’s also stated that those with a passion for video games and those who have secured the platinum trophy in Stellar Blade will be among the preferred candidates.

Multiple Job Listings Are Also Open for the Next Stellar Blade Project

Speaking of Stellar Blade, Shift Up has multiple job listings associated with the sequel project. Of note, they’re looking for a “PC Combat Designer.” The original Stellar Blade was a PlayStation 5 exclusive for a short time before being ported to PC.

Shift Up also notes that they’re looking for a screenwriter for the next Stellar Blade project. Among the qualifications, they’re looking for people with experience playing games in the action-adventure, adventure, and role-playing genres. Also, they want someone who’s actually played the first game and experienced the ending.

Recently, it was noted that the original game could be coming to even more platforms. Learn more about that here. Also, it has been suggested that the sequel may take place in a post-apocalyptic China-inspired setting.
