Stellar Blade Dev Posts Cryptic Picture Teasing News

Stellar Blade was released exclusively on PlayStation 5 on April 26, emerging to a remarkably positive reception and strong reviews across the board. This post-apocalyptic, third-person slasher won the hearts and minds of players worldwide, and it definitely wasn’t anything to do with the protagonist being a scantily clad supermodel or anything.

On Twitter, Stellar Blade’s developer, ShiftUp, recently posted an image teasing news that’s going to drop next week – but nobody knows what it could be.

What’s Next For Stellar Blade?

There are updates in the pipeline for Stellar Blade, that much is obvious. It was a few weeks ago that ShiftUp confirmed it’s starting work on a new game, but whether that’s related to Stellar Blade remains to be seen.

In the post on Twitter, ShiftUp shared a cryptic image:

Fans worldwide have started throwing out their guesses and assumptions as to what this could be. The image appears to reference an in-game boss character, so it could be a nod to the ‘boss challenge mode’, which we know is already in the works at ShiftUp. It’s a posed image with some effects applied, so it could be an announcement regarding a photomode, which would pay dividends for the more creative fans of Stellar Blade.

It could also be a statue or a collectable figure of some kind, which many fans think might be the case. However, the argument against that is that it would be a bait and switch manoeuvre, as arguably it’s ‘not worth it’ to generate so much hype a week before revealing a simple collectable item.

What do you think this impending announcement is?
