Steam Machine Targets 1080p at 30 FPS for Deck Verified Games

All Steam Deck games on the Steam Machine will target 1080p at 30 FPS.

Late last year, Valve announced its return to the console business with its next-gen Steam Machine. The upcoming system is capable of playing at 4K resolution at 60 FPS on a “semi-custom” AMD CPU and GPU. Now, performance details for the Steam Deck-verified games have been revealed at GDC.

All Steam Deck-Verified Games are Steam Machine Verified

As spotted by PC Gamer, Valve provided new details on Steam hardware at GDC 2026, talking about SteamOS, Deck, Frame, and Machine. On the Steam Machine Verified slide, it was mentioned that Deck-Verified games are verified for the consoles. Players will receive the same input expectations for Steam Deck. The console will target 30FPS at 1080p for Deck Verified games, and performance on the Steam machine will be 6x that of the Steam Deck. Additionally, it doesn’t test display resolution for legibility and has an updated API to detect hardware.

Regarding Steam Frame verification, there is no verified program for streaming. If it runs well on your host PC, then it should be okay for Steam Frame. Steam Frame verified is for standalone play only; VR and non-VR games are being tested. Coming to performance, standalone VR titles will target 90 FPS whereas standalone 2D titles will target 30 FPS at 1280×720.

In other news, Valve has issued a lengthy statement responding to New York’s lawsuit . Additionally, Xbox has announced that developers will receive devkits, or ‘alpha versions’ of Project Helix, next year.
