Power is a crucial resource in StarRupture that can make or break your survival, and having it connected everywhere it’s required can be a struggle if you don’t know exactly what you are doing.
StarRupture launched into early access on January 6, marking the latest step in a long developmental journey, with a detailed early access roadmap showcasing what players can expect to be added.
Before you get to grips with any new content, however, managing and connecting power in StarRupture is vital, and Insider Gaming has all the important details.
How to Get Power in StarRupture

Power in StarRupture is provided by building specific power constructs, the most basic of which is the Solar Generator, which you receive the schematics for during the tutorial.
Generators provide a fixed amount of power, 10 in the case of a Solar Generator, and if the power requirements of your buildings exceed the production amount, the process will be halted. Therefore, it’s crucial to keep an eye on the amount of power you are producing, and the amount that is required for your operations.
Your power status is available to be checked at any point by interacting with a Generator, which will display the amount of power in the grid, and the amount of power required. To increase the amount of power available, construct more Generators, or turn off any machines you are not currently using.
How to Connect Power in StarRupture
Power in StarRupture is connected by platforms or rails, both of which transfer the power source to any connected building or construct.
There is no cable management in StarRupture, like there is in similar games, resulting in a much cleaner base design, and it also makes it easy to isolate power sources to specific areas, ensuring they remain supplied regardless of the restoration work you are doing elsewhere.
When connecting constructs like a Smelter and an Orbital Transporter together, Rails are the best choice as they are elevated, and won’t get in your way, and the game has a smart system that can automatically connect the devices when you select a start and end point for the Rails.
Platforms, meanwhile, are a good way to keep power connected to buildings around your habitat that are a single level, though you can also connect power via elevated platforms.
