Starfield will start to release exclusively for early access users this Thursday, August 31st. From there, it’ll roll into the global deployment that is set to take place on September 6th – and it has already proven its value by outselling Baldur’s Gate 3 on Steam. Currently, Starfield – Bethesda Game Studios’ epic space-faring adventure – is sitting in second place globally on the Steam Top Sellers list.
In most key regions around the world – Australia, the United States, the UK, Canada, and Germany, for example, Starfield is the number one top-selling title – and it hasn’t even been released yet. It’s on track for a monumental performance, and for months, the hype train has been gathering steam.
Will Starfield Be The GOAT?
Starfield is easily one of the most highly anticipated games ever created, and over the last few years, everything that has poured out from within the project has filled gamers with unbridled excitement. It’s one of the largest games ever concocted, boasting an immersive, expansive story, over 1,000 planets to explore, and unparalleled levels of customisation.

They’re just a few of the reasons why gamers are pre-ordering Starfield in their droves. In recent days, Starfield has crept the charts, and on Steam, it has overtaken the wildly successful Baldur’s Gate 3, which was released on PC on August 3rd, and will launch on PlayStation 5 on September 6th – the same day that Starfield is released globally.
On Steam’s list of top-selling titles, Starfield sits firmly in second place, but it’s almost certainly going to be a huge task to overtake Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, which has sat in the ‘Top 100’ for more than 570 weeks and currently sits in the number one spot.
