PlayStation Asia has leaked the content of an upcoming STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl update that’s scheduled to drop on all applicable platforms next week. This follows the massive 2.0 update that introduced vast improvements and went hand in hand with the Cost of Hope expansion that landed in August.
From what we know, a graphic was posted on the PlayStation Asia Twitter profile containing the highlights from the update. This was then circulated on social media, where it was stated that it was posted early and would be released globally next week. It’s called The Zone Lookout, and you can find out below what it contains.
STALKER’s 2.1 Update Coming Soon
STALKER 2’s 2.0 update and the arrival of Cost of Hope marked a major turning point for the series. It pushed player counts up, rejuvenated the entire platform, and introduced the first critical story expansion for the base game. I had early access to Cost of Hope, and it was a phenomenal glimpse at the future of the title, which has yet to receive another expansion that GSC Game World hasn’t revealed.
In a recent post on social media, PlayStation Asia inadvertently revealed that the next major update, 2.1, is coming soon. The post stressed ‘out now’, but from comments posted on social media, it seems it went live a few days early.
‘The Zone Lookout’ update is set to drop next week on all platforms, and it contains:
- A-Life NPC Visualisation Range Increase
- Related Adjustments for Combat and Ballistics
- Fast Travel with Squad Leaders
- Bug Fixes and Improvements
It’s a bit light on details, but some of these improvements will be well received, particularly the A-Life NPC range. That was one of the biggest flaws of Cost of Hope and the 2.0 update, which boosted A-Life interactions and behavior but kept their visualisation range limited, which became an issue when the team added binoculars to the game…
