GSC Game World has won the PC Gaming Show award for the Most Wanted PC Game, and during the company’s acceptance speech, a new trailer was showcased, revealing that it’s still destined for arrival on PC and consoles in Q1 2024. This all-new trailer also showed the return of Call of Pripyat’s ‘Strider’, who fans of the 2009 survival game will undoubtedly recognise.
In the five-minute video, GSC Game World’s CEO, Evgeniy Grygorovych, humbly accepted the award and spoke about the journey that the firm has undertaken to get to this point. It has been a rocky path thus far, but it’s nearing the pay-off point, and in just a few months, we’ll finally be playing what looks like one of the most intense survival horror games to be released in years.
Stalker 2 Is Coming
Everything we’ve seen from Stalker 2 – including the leaked content from earlier this year – looks utterly jaw-dropping. From a sumptuous, terrifying open-world environment to character models that look masterfully created and acted, there’s so much to look forward to in Stalker 2. For fans of that post-apocalyptic vibe found in games like Fallout, Stalker 2 will be the easiest buy of the decade.
Here’s the acceptance speech, featuring the new trailer:
In the speech, GSC Game World’s CEO said:
It’s about you, our fans. Many years ago, when the journey we had planned concluded, you refused to leave the Zone. You enriched it with stories, love, and life, ensuring the legacy continues through the years. You’ve shown us that there are still goals to achieve and stories to tell. Your passion has guided us throughout the journey and I can ever express enough gratitude for that.
As the war in Ukraine worsened, GSC Game World was uprooted and ultimately forced to relocate from its studio in Kyiv to a new location in Prague. In the speech, Grygorovych explained that some GSC Game World employees are still fighting on the front lines in Ukraine.
Stalker 2 is set to launch on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S in Q1 2024, and it will be coming to Game Pass from day one.
