GSC Game World has divulged some more information about the upcoming major STALKER 2 update – Patch 1.5. The impending update adds and tweaks multiple core aspects of the game, but some have argued that it’s ‘not enough’ to bring them back to the game that turned heads (not all for positive reasons) in November 2024.

When is STALKER 2 Patch 1.5 Coming?
It has been suggested that the STALKER 2 1.5 Patch will arrive ‘next week’. This claim comes from STALKER 2 News on social media, which has taken the information directly from the game’s official Discord server manned by GSC Game World employees.
STALKER 2’s 1.4 Patch came out in the middle of May, while Patch 1.3 was released midway through March. The cadence of updates is pretty good, but some fans have questioned how meaningful the content in these updates is.
In the last major patch, GSC Game World overhauled the game’s AI and combat mechanics and tweaked the mutants that roam The Zone in the world of STALKER 2.
What’s New in STALKER 2 Patch 1.5?
In the same post linked above from STALKER 2 News, it was suggested that various key changes are coming to the game with the 1.5 update.
First, it was claimed that ZoneKit (modding tools) will officially be released with Patch 1.5. It was also mentioned that custom difficulty mechanics could be introduced if the team can get the features ready in time.
Some quality-of-life elements are coming, such as reload ‘cancel-and-continue’ animations, addressing bullet-sponge mutant enemies, and adjusting ultrawide resolutions to work a little better.
It was also claimed that ammunition is ‘getting a small rework’ with Patch 1.5.

I just want it to release on PlayStation 5 whenever they do get it up to snuff. I’ve never played any of the Stalker games but their premises has always intrigued me and I had very high hopes for its initial release on Xbox Series and PC but since I don’t own a Series X nor a gaming rig, I have to hope they one day release it on PlayStation.
