GSC Game World has just unveiled a new trailer for STALKER 2‘s Cost of Hope DLC, set to land in just a few weeks on all applicable platforms. It’s a massive expansion that serves as the game’s first story DLC, and it takes players to places they’ve never been able to venture in the STALKER series.
It’s set to bring dozens of hours of additional gameplay, new points of interest to uncover, and, in the words of GSC Game World, ‘breathtaking mysteries of all sizes’ to delve into.
Check out the new trailer below.
Cost of Hope Features Two New Major Characters
In Cost of Hope, Skif returns, but this time, he’s intertwined with two new major characters: Zulu and Mavka.
Fans will recognize Zulu, the ‘series veteran’ from the Duty faction, but Mavka is a new entrant, emerging into the story from the Freedom faction. It’s a confrontational expansion that brings into play some foundational elements of the STALKER universe, with these legendary factions once again coming to blows in The Zone.
GSC Game World wrote in a press release:
Caught in a rapidly unfolding chapter of an age-old confrontation, Skif — the protagonist controlled by the player — must follow previously unexplored paths and face dangers beyond comprehension, choosing sides and once again shaping the future of Chornobyl through his decisions.
In the new trailer, we see the Iron Forest location and the iconic CNPP, a location never uncovered by the STALKER series, despite its constant proximity to the player.
Here’s that trailer:
As expansions go, Cost of Hope is set to be something special. It has taken GSC Game World a couple of years to put it together, building on the success of the 2024 first-person shooter that went on to amass millions of players.
