Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Wishlist Goes Live on PlayStation Store, Then Removed

Not much has been said in regard to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 in 2022, but a recent update to the PlayStation Store has led fans to speculate that some form of announcement is imminent.

Last night, a PlayStation Store update for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 enabled people to wishlist the game in the UK, before it was removed again a couple of hours later.

It’s unclear if the listing was intentional or not, but it was acknowledged by Insomniac Games’ Community Director James Stevenson on Twitter. Stevenson did clarify that “The store page is going up is all” when one fan said he’s staying up all night for a potential announcement.

Despite the acknowledgment though, the store page has since been removed.

Fans have speculated that a new trailer could go live on December 13, as a new trailer for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-verse will also be released.

So far, we only know that the game is scheduled to release in 2023 but an accurate release date is yet to be given. It’s possible that an announcement of a release date could be dropped with a new gameplay trailer out of the blue, but with such a prominent title like Spider-Man, we think that an announcement is likely to be made at a Sony event.

A PlayStation Showcase or State of Play could be on the horizon, but so far sources were unable to provide Insider Gaming with any dates for a potential announcement.

Spider-Man 2 is scheduled to release in 2023 exclusively for the PlayStation 5.
