Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds will host an Open Network Test later this month, with free access provided to players to try out the game.
Due to be released on September 25, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds has caught the eye with a flurry of collabs, including with SpongeBob Squarepants, and sly digs towards Mario Kart.
Any players on the fence on whether to buy the game, or those who can’t hold their excitement for release, will have a fresh opportunity to test it out in just a few weeks’ time.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Open Network Test Starts August 29

A reveal of the Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds booth at Gamescom posted on X (formerly Twitter) perhaps revealed more than it was supposed to, with SonicAndre2 quickly spotting an advertisement for the upcoming network test.
A poster urges players to “come race on our level,” revealing that the free Open Network Test begins August 29 and ends September 1. It will be available PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
Further details on exactly what will be available during the Open Network Test, such as the tracks and characters available, were not shown, but we could see further news at Gamescom—where, as you’ve seen, a full booth for the game is in place.
Gamescom Opening Night Live tonight, August 19, could provide a flurry of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds news, given we saw plenty of details at Summer Game Fest earlier this year, but if not, expect further news to follow in the coming days.
