Riot Games has quickly released a hotfix to rather heavily nerf Smolder on League of Legends Patch 26.10 just a day into the update.
The ADC had one of the highest win-rates in the game last patch at 54.42%; only Brand had a higher ADC percentage, but that was at a much lower pick rate.
It was also the pick that helped earn Félix ‘xQc’ Lengyel the MVP award in the Jynxzi streamer LoL tournament.
Despite this, Smolder wasn’t initially included in the LoL 26.10 patch notes, while Anivia, Ashe, Naafiri, Shyvana, and Zed all received nerfs.
Now, just a day into the new patch, Riot has announced that the small dragon is receiving nerfs to both his Q and E.
Smolder Nerfs
Riot Games has released the following changes to Smolder in League of Legends:
- Q – Super Scorcher Breath
- Damage: 65 / 80 / 95 / 110 / 125 (+130% bonus AD) ⇒ 60 / 75 / 90 / 105 / 120 (+130% bonus AD)
- W – Achooo!
- Explosion Physical Damage: 10 – 110 (+65% bonus AD) (+80% AP) ⇒ 10 – 110 (+50% bonus AD) (+80% AP)
LoL lead gameplay designer Matt ‘Phroxzon’ Leung-Harrison took to Twitter to explain these changes, saying:
“We’ve observed his power level continue to grow over the course of the patch. The main factor is his synergy with DFT (Deathfire Touch), and it will continue to be good after the changes.
The Deathfire Touch rune has proven to be too strong, receiving a hotfix nerf last patch and then a nerf to its Damage Per Second in the most recent update.

Meanwhile, leakers and dataminers have discovered a possible new feature that will allow LoL players to queue in three roles once the League Next update goes live.
