Skies of Arcadia Getting A Remaster, It’s Claimed

Skies of Arcadia remaster

Skies of Arcadia, the JRPG from Overworks, is reportedly getting the remaster treatment. The information comes via the XboxEra Podcast that aired on Sunday night.

Initially released in 2000 for the Sega Dreamcast, Skies of Arcadia was a game that focused on world exploration. The game saw you play as an air pilot named Vyse who, along with his friends, works to stop the Vuluan Empire from getting ancient weapons to destroy the world.

The gameplay focuses on traditional JRPG elements with turn-based combat and experience points for leveling up your characters. Exploration occurs via foot and through the air, as the name would suggest.

After the Dreamcast went under in the early 2000s, the game was launched on Nintendo GameCube in 2002.

Insider Gaming did happen to come across an image from the apparent remaster, but we’ve yet to confirm its 100% legitimacy. So, please, take the photo with a grain of salt for now.

There was no other information about the possible remaster in the podcast. Insider Gaming has reached out to Sega, the game’s original publisher, for comment on the report. Should a response be received, the story will be updated accordingly.

  1. Hopefully with a complete overhaul of the translation, as the game never got translated. The localized threw put the Japanese script and made up their own story based on the scenes of the game.

  2. That is not a picture from any sega remaster, that is a cropped image from an in progress fan hd pack for an emulation of the game.

Please source the image properly instead of trying to claim, this was found in the first page of results for Skies HD on Google.

  3. I really hope it is legitimate. I really want to play it again, and I really wanna play it on the switch. I hooe if it does get the remaster treatment it comes to the switch so I can play skies of arcadia on my switch.

  4. I’d love for this to happen, but that screenshot looks like a texture pack is the only discernable difference, which are already available for dolphin.
