Silent Hill f Developers Warn Players About Fake Beta Invites

Silent Hill f is the latest game to fall victim to fake beta test announcements and fraudulent websites.

Beware of Fake Silent Hill f Closed Beta Tests

As spotted by The Gamer, the official Japanese X account (formerly Twitter) for Silent Hill has released a new warning for players, informing them about invitations to fake closed beta tests, events, and fraudulent websites, among other things. The developers have confirmed that the number of impersonation accounts for Silent Hill F has increased, and these accounts are luring players and fans to malicious websites.

The developers have advised players not to use any websites or social media accounts other than the ones they have listed (Website and Twitter), as these are the only official channels for Silent Hill F news. The developers stated that any other websites or social media accounts that may contain words such as “Silent Hill f” or “Konami” in their URLs, key art, or other elements are unrelated to the company.

The developers have stated that the Silent Hill impersonators invite players to these fraudulent websites and events to steal their personal information; therefore, players should exercise utmost caution in these situations.

Silent Hill is not the first game to receive impersonators or fake beta tests. Just a week ago, CD Projekt Red also released a warning, informing players that impersonators are scamming them by sending fake closed beta invites. It appears that scammers have recently begun targeting the gaming community.
