‘Shut The F*** Up’: Battlestate Studio Head Snaps Back at Tarkov Wipe Haters

Not everyone is as pleased as you might think with the latest Escape from Tarkov wipe. It’s a tricky thing that has divided the community, with many sitting back and writhing with a sense of disappointment and despair at the state of the game. The ‘hardcore wipe’ that Battlestate Games pushed out just two days ago is not sitting well with players.

In the last couple of days, Battlestate Games has worked to right some wrongs and flip-flop on choices made leading into and deploying the hardcore wipe, but the complaints are still coming thick and fast.

And Battlestate’s Head of Studio, Nikita Buyanov, isn’t taking the comments lying down.

‘Every Opinion Matters’

In a post on social media, one disgruntled Escape from Tarkov player wrote to Nikita, saying, ‘You destroyed your game, bro.’

As a response, Nikita quoted the guy’s post and simply wrote:

oh shut the f*** up

Ten minutes later, Nikita reposted himself, backtracking a little:

i’m joking, don’t shut the f*** up. Every opinion matters

The responses to Nikita’s comments were varied, with his followers expressing their jubilation at supporting such a badass developer, while others referred to Nikita’s comment as tone deaf, given how messed up Escape from Tarkov has become since the hardcore wipe was released.

One user made a point that often comes up when people are bagging on Escape from Tarkov: ‘Your game lost identity cause you tried to please everyone. Listening to streamers ruined this game for you.’

Battlestate Games has made more of an effort to plug into the community in recent months. The team has been compiling feedback from surveys in transparent reports and actively acting on suggestions from the community, altering the games based on recommendations from the players.

Of course, these actions come almost a decade after Escape from Tarkov entered early access, so for some, it’s too little, too late.

Are you miffed about the hardcore wipe and thinking about quitting Tarkov? Let me know on the Insider Gaming forum.
