It’s taken 13 long years for Grand Theft Auto 6 to finally arrive, and after such a lengthy wait, it’s understandable that you’d want the best possible experience. With GTA 6 launching exclusively on consoles at first, and the PS5 Pro being the most powerful console currently available, you might be considering making the upgrade. But is it actually worth it?
Rockstar has confirmed that GTA 6 will feature PS5 Pro enhancements, but will the improvements be enough to justify spending a small fortune on Sony’s most expensive console? If you’re weighing up whether to make the jump, we’ve got you covered. Here’s everything we know about GTA 6’s PS5 Pro enhancements and whether they’re worth the upgrade.
Every PS5 Pro Enhancement For GTA 6

While Sony and Rockstar haven’t officially detailed every PS5 Pro enhancement for GTA 6 just yet, we already have a general idea of what you can expect.
As with most PS5 Pro enhancements, odds are that the game will feature improved visual features thanks to PSSR technology, as well as high-quality Ray Tracing. What fans are really hoping for, though, is a performance mode, with 60 fps being the desired output.
Until Rockstar and Sony provide a more detailed breakdown of the enhancements, though, it’s difficult to say exactly how much of an improvement the PS5 Pro will offer over the standard PS5. We’ll update this article as soon as more information becomes available.
Should You Buy A PS5 Pro For GTA 6?

As things stand, it’s difficult to recommend buying a PS5 Pro solely for the purpose of playing Grand Theft Auto 6.
Rockstar appears incredibly confident in its upcoming title, and all the gameplay footage we’ve seen so far has been captured on the standard PS5. Based on the lack of confirmed enhancements, spending practically $900 on a new console purely for GTA 6 might be the wrong move.
That said, if you’re planning to play games beyond GTA 6, and have a TV capable of taking advantage of improved resolution and graphical features, the PS5 Pro becomes a much more compelling purchase. There’s no denying that it’s the more powerful console, and it’s likely to remain that way for some time.
However, if you’re primarily upgrading to experience GTA 6, the standard PS5 should be more than capable of delivering the experience Rockstar intends. Until more substantial enhancements are confirmed, we’d recommend holding off on the PS5 Pro upgrade.
