Sea of Thieves’ Latest Update is More Than 100 GB in Size

There’s an all-new Sea of Thieves update available to download, but for certain platforms, it’s as much as 102 GB in size. It’s jam-packed with improvements, changes, and a transition to the latest Xbox Game Development Kit (GDK) which allows for DX11 and DX12 support on PC, but it’s a whopping download under any circumstances.

In the patch notes released alongside the update, Rare noted that future updates will be ‘considerably smaller’, but let’s be honest – they couldn’t have gotten much bigger.

Thar She Blows

In the latest update, released by Rare today across Xbox and PC platforms, Sea of thieves is getting a bunch of changes injected into it. This includes amendments and upgrades to certain voyages, rewards, reputation mechanics, and water physics. There’s a bunch of new items being added to the Pirate Emporium, fresh cosmetics to buy and equip, and hundreds of fixes and tweaks being applied across the board.

  • Xbox Series X: 88.36 GB

  • Xbox One X: 88.36 GB
  • Xbox One: 90.15 GB
