Popular Xbox console exclusive Sea of Thieves could be making its way to PlayStation in the near future.
According to Stephen Totilo, Microsoft “has looked into” launching the game on its competitor’s console. There’s not mention of a potential timeline for launch on PlayStation or if it will be available on both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.
Developed by Rare and published by Xbox Game Studios, Sea of Thieves was first released on March 20, 2018. Over its five years on the market, the game has seen numerous updates including crossovers with other Microsoft-owned franchises like Halo and Gears of War. In July 2023, a free expansion called The Legend of Monkey Island was released that is based on the classic Monkey Island franchise.
Back in December, the game also launched single-player servers to help newer players get comfortable with the mechanics of the game before having to deal with PvP combat.
Insider Gaming has reached out to both Microsoft and Sony on the report and will update this story should a response be received.
