SaGa Glimmerfest 2023 Livestream Announced, Featuring Emerald Beyond

SaGa Glimmerfest 2023, a special livestream from Square Enix with more details for SaGa Emerald Beyond, has been announced for December 15th in a new tweet.

It will go live at 6 AM PST via Square Enix, and fans have an opportunity to have their replies answered on the stream.

The livestream places SaGa Emerald Beyond at the forefront, but there are many other potential titles to feature. Fans will likely recognize the beloved SaGa series for Romancing SaGa, an iconic RPG from the early 90’s.

In fact, many SaGa games have been remastered over the years. SaGa Emerald Beyond is one of just a few new installments, and Scarlet Grace released back in 2018.

So, if the Glimmerfest livestream has plans for any big reveals, they will probably involve another remaster. Following Square Enix’s work on SaGa Frontier, the sequel is surely due for its own update.

SaGa Emerald Beyond made some appearances at Tokyo Game Show 2023 and a Nintendo Direct last September. It revealed quite a few characters and story beats, but nothing especially big.

The release window is still only slated for 2024. As the new year swiftly approaches, it would be an effective time to announce something more concrete. While this may not be the exact launch date, setting the Quarter should be feasible enough.

Fans may also expect a new trailer, since SaGa Emerald Beyond hasn’t showcased much gameplay. It would be helpful in building buzz for the new entry.

The SaGa series has also avoided Xbox ports for years, so it would be a welcome surprise if Square Enix announced an Xbox version for Emerald Beyond. It will currently release on every other platform, even including mobile devices.
