Rockstar Won’t Delay GTA 6 Gameplay Reveal After Leaks

Rockstar reportedly has not identified the GTA 6 leaker, but it does not plan to move its gameplay premiere or change its marketing strategy.

This week, leaks of Grand Theft Auto 6 by the anonymous individual or group known as CYBERLEEK dominated the news cycle. GTA 6 was slated for a major reveal on Netflix on August 25, but these leaks and the cyberattack a week earlier have upended those plans. Although the Netflix reveal may no longer be the first major look at the game Rockstar was hoping for, a new report says they have no plans to change course.

GTA 6 Leak Probe Is “All Hands on Deck” at Rockstar

A new report by Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier sheds light on Rockstar’s mindset following this series of apparent leaks. Management is treating the response as “all hands on deck,” but the company does not plan to delay its gameplay premiere or immediately change its marketing strategy.

Prior to these apparent leaks, Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick launched a massive media blitz. Among other topics, he said he believes the price for GTA 6 is a good bargain and hyped the partnership with Netflix. GTA 6 has already made a healthy amount of money in pre-orders, and leaks are unlikely to significantly shake the hype. Still, Rockstar employees are reportedly frustrated and exhausted.
