2XKO will stop active development in December 2026, Riot Games says. Players will keep online access, receive all gameplay content in September, and receive refunds.
This news came directly from Riot Games’ official website. They say the path is clear because not enough players have joined the game; there’s no path to sustainability. Therefore, the servers will remain online beyond this year, but they will deliver a final bug patch in December, and then development will end.
2XKO Will Unlock All Gameplay Content Before Development Ends

To preserve the game, Riot Games announced that the servers will remain online and playable on all platforms. For the rest of the year, they will also introduce new content and improvements. Some of that content includes two new playable Champions, and there will be one final bug patch in December. Offline play will be unaffected.
Additionally, all Champions will be unlocked, and most cosmetic items will be bundled. They’re also refunding all money spent on the game on or before Wednesday, August 20, 2026.
We want to do right by the players who want to continue playing 2XKO, and deeply respect the love put into the game and the scene up to now. 2XKO remains online and playable, and we aren’t going anywhere yet. We’ve still got more content to show you through the end of this year, and we are truly grateful to everyone who has been a part of 2XKO’s journey so far.
