New video game sales data reveal that Resident Evil Requiem is leading the charts of best-selling games of 2026.
A report from earlier this week confirmed that Resident Evil Requiem was the fastest-selling game in the series, having already sold 6 million units. This bump has helped Capcom’s latest horror survival instalment climb the video games sales charts, making it one of the top releases of 2026.
Resident Evil Requiem Leads 2026’s Best-Selling Games
Mat Piscatella of Circana has revealed the latest video game sales stats, revealing Resident Evil Requiem is currently the best-selling video game of 2026. It is followed by titles such as NBA 2K26, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, Madden NFL 26, and Minecraft. Additional details reveal that Requiem’s launch-week dollar sales were over 60% higher than Resident Evil Village’s total, and unit sales increased by over 40%.
Additionally, the release of Resident Evil Requiem, coupled with a 27% increase in subscription services, has contributed to keeping video game content spending stable. The new title “ranked 1st in February across the PlayStation, Xbox, and the aggregated PC storefront charts.” It fell to the sixth position for Nintendo platforms, with the new titles Mario Tennis Fever and Dragon Quest 7: Reimagined taking the top spots.
