The world of Pokémon Pokopia is growing larger with the addition of the Expansion Pass, adding paid-for DLC to the title, and questions will emerge about whether it’s worth it.
DLC is not a new endeavour for the Pokémon franchise, with the past two generations both having DLC content, alongside Pokémon Legends: Z-A‘s Mega Dimension addition, and now Pokopia will join the mix.

What’s Included in The Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass?
The Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass features three major content parts, all of which are released in intervals over the course of the next year.
Part 1, featuring Bubbly Basin, is the first in the line of releases, and includes a new town to explore and the new dive mechanic, though the latter is available as a free update for all players.
Later in 2026, Part 2 is scheduled to release, though not with a specific date, and introduces accessories Pokémon can wear. Finally, Part 3 releases on a yet-to-be-revealed date in 2027, and introduces another new town to explore and rebuild.
Each of these releases will bring additional Pokémon into Pokopia, and will come alongside a free update with new content for all players.
Is The Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass Worth it?
Ultimately, the answer to whether the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass is worth it comes down to personal preference, but there are a few things to consider.
Firstly, if you loved the base game of Pokopia and want more to enjoy, the Expansion Pass is a must-buy, bringing two new towns and some major new features during the release cycle.
The second point is perhaps more significant, however, as it extends to the Pokémon franchise as a whole. As it stands, apart from the regular updates for the live-service titles, the Pokopia Expansion Pass is the only release on the calendar prior to Winds and Waves.
With Pokémon Winds and Waves not expected until late 2027, based on the releases of previous new generations in the franchise, Pokémon Pokopia is one of the few things on the calendar to keep you busy.
Of course, that could all change in the coming months if Pokémon reveals more releases, and the schedule could be expanded further later down the line.
