Pokémon Pokopia is full of complex creations and requirements, with Duckweed being one of the many environmental aspects needed for creating Habitats, but there are some major caveats.
Duckweed in Pokopia is a type of foliage that grows in water, attracting several Pokémon exclusively to the habitats it creates. Without using Duckweed, completing the Pokopia Pokédex is impossible, so it’s best to master its use as soon as possible.
For all the details on Duckweed in Pokopia, including how to make it and whether it can be moved, Insider Gaming has you covered.
How to Make Duckweed in Pokémon Pokopia

Duckweed is made in Pokopia by using the Leafage ability while powered up, though this isn’t immediately available in the game.
To power up Leafage, you must create and eat a Salad. Any type will do, but if you haven’t been introduced to the cooking mechanics in Pokopia yet, head to Rocky Ridges and rescue Chef Dente.
Once you have created and consumed a Salad, the PP bar for Leafage will turn a shade of yellow, showcasing how many more uses you have of the ability until it runs out.

The task of creating Duckweed is simple, however. Just head to any area of water and use the Leafage ability to create a patch of Duckweed, or hold down the ability bar to instantly create a bigger area of Duckweed.
Larger areas of Duckweed will create the Uplifting Duckweed Habitat, opening the door for Lotad and its evolution line to appear.
Can You Move Duckweed in Pokémon Pokopia?
No, there is currently no known way to move Duckweed in Pokopia, and it’s unclear whether the ability to do so will be added in a future update.
Using the Rototiller ability on Duckweed does not pick them up, as it does with flowers growing on the ground, and Cut just destroys them, leaving Leaves to collect.

For more precise environmental creations with Duckweed, the best approach is to make more than you need, then use Cut to remove the areas you don’t want.
Fortunately, there aren’t many complicated Habitat creations to make with Duckweed, so you won’t need to worry about precise placement too much.
