How to Start Pokémon Legends: Z-A Mega Dimension DLC

The world of Pokémon Legends: Z-A has grown larger with the release of the Mega Dimension DLC, but finding out exactly how to start the expansion can be confusing if you don’t know where to look.

The Mega Dimension DLC for Pokémon Legends: Z-A is headlined by two mythical Pokémon, Hoopa and Zeraora, and features Pokémon that exceed the level 100 cap for the first time in franchise history.

If you’re ready to dive into Hyperspace Lumiose and enjoy everything the Mega Dimension DLC brings to Pokémon Legends: Z-A, Insider Gaming has all the key details to get you started.

Do You Need to Complete Pokémon Legends: Z-A to Start Mega Dimension DLC?

Yes, the base game of Pokémon Legends: Z-A needs to be completed to access the Mega Dimension DLC, though full 100% completion is not required.

The main story of Legends: Z-A must be ticked off before you can begin the Mega Dimension expansion, and you’ll know whether you have met that point, as there is a no-turning-back situation at the end of the story. Once this has been completed, the Mega Dimension DLC is available.

You won’t need to complete every side quest in Legends: Z-A, however, nor will you need to complete the post-game content of catching several legendary and mythical Pokémon, though having them in your ranks may be beneficial when progressing through the Mega Dimension.

How to Start Pokémon Legends: Z-A Mega Dimension DLC

Upon loading into the game after downloading the latest version, and having purchased the DLC, a notification will inform you that there is a new side mission waiting atop Hotel Z.

Fast travel to Hotel Z, head inside, and use the elevator, selecting the option to travel to the roof. After a short loading period, a cutscene will commence, with Ansha and Hoopa introducing themselves.

Ansha requires the help of Team MZ creating a donut for Hoopa, and you need to head to the Baker’s Stall in Magenta Sector 6 to collect some butter. The fast travel point of the Nouveau Cafe (Truck No. 3) is the most accessible point close to the destination, with just a short walk required.

A double battle against Grisham and Tarragon then takes place, with each having three Pokémon to defeat. Once victorious, return to Hotel Z and Ansha, and select a donut to be baked. The donut created provides a variety of boosts, but, as it’s your first adventure, it doesn’t matter too much what you select.

Now, head to the point marked on the map by the Saison Canal, using the fast travel point of the Justice Dojo for easy access. Head inside the mysterious portal that appears, follow the rest of the navigation prompts, and enjoy the Mega Dimension adventure!
