Pokémon Legends Z-A Announced, Releasing Worldwide in 2025

Pokémon Legends Z-A

Pokémon Legends Z-A was officially announced during today’s Pokémon Presents showcase, alongside a cinematic trailer.

Pokémon Legends Z-A will be a brand-new installment in the series from Game Freak. The trailer description elaborates on the premise.

It explains that “a new adventure awaits within Lumiose City, where an urban redevelopment plan is under way to shape the city into a place that belongs to both people and Pokémon”.

Nintendo did not confirm a concrete release date, but it will release “simultaneously” worldwide. Fans did not get a look at any actual gameplay today, either.

Still, it was undoubtedly the highlight of today’s Pokémon Presents showcase, which did feature other games in the franchise.

Pokémon Go announced the next season, World of Wonders, just yesterday. World of Wonders will run from March 1st to June 1st. Pokémon Unite also rolled out a new update today, Version 1.14.1.2.

Meanwhile, Nintendo held a big Partner Showcase last week featuring the first two Xbox games coming to Switch. Pentiment is available now, while Grounded is coming to the Nintendo Switch on April 16th.

Fans still await an official Nintendo Switch 2 announcement. Recent reports suggest that the new console could launch as early as March 2025.

This means that Pokémon Legends Z-A could potentially be the flagship title of Nintendo’s brand-new console. However, Nintendo has not confirmed anything officially.

Also, if the Nintendo Switch 2 is indeed revealed in June, a Pokémon Legends Z-A gameplay trailer could also be in store around then.

Pokémon Legends Z-A’s first trailer teases a very digital world. So, it might feel very different from the natural landscapes of Pokémon Legends Arceus.
