Pokémon Champions Mobile and Mega Raichu Release Confirmed

Nintendo and the Pokémon Company have confirmed the mobile release of Pokémon Champions as well as the addition of Mega Raichu X and Y to the game.

Pokémon Champions will release on Android and iOS on Wednesday, June 17, 2026.

And upon that release, all players will receive a free Raichu as well as the Raichunite X and Raichunite Y Mega Stones.

June 17 will therefore likely be the start of Regulation M-B, the game’s third ranked season, and the date when new Pokémon will be added to Pokémon Champions.

This should see the release of a whole new roster of playable Pokémon in the game and new items.

Pokémon Champions Mobile Release

Players are able to pre-register for Pokémon Champions on the App Store and Google Play to download the game as soon as it’s available.

Just like the Nintendo Switch version, the game will be free to download, though there are purchasable extras including premium battle passes.

The Pokémon Company has also confirmed that those who have been playing on the Switch will have their save data carry over to the mobile version by linking their Nintendo Account.

Mega Raichu X and Y Pokémon Champions Gift

As mentioned prior, Pokémon Champions players will receive Raichu’s Mega Stones as a free gift in their in-game mailbox.

The gift will be available to anyone who logs in between Wednesday, June 17, and Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at 6:49 p.m. PDT (September 2 1:49 a.m. UTC).

The Pokémon Company has also confirmed the abilities of Mega Raichu X and Y.

Mega Raichu X will have Electric Surge, setting up Electric Terrain upon entry to boost electric-type moves by 30%.

With 135 attack, Mega Raichu X’s Fake Out and Electric Terrain-boosted Volt Tackle will definitely hurt.

Meanwhile, Mega Raichu Y has been given the ability No Guard, which stops any of its moves from missing.

With 160 Special Attack, its 100% accurate Zap Cannon and Focus Blast will one-shot a lot of the in-game roster.

Both Raichus will likely be popular, which is bad news for all the Charizard and Areodactyls in the current meta.

However, it is very good news for ground types already in the game, like Mega Steelix, Mega Golurk, and Garchomp.

And see five Pokémon that would shake up the Pokémon Champions meta with a new roster being added soon.
