PlayStation Outage Postpones EA Sports FC 26 World Championship [Updated]

UPDATE: EA Sports and the Esports Foundation have postponed the final League Stage games of the FC Pro World Championship to Saturday, July 25, with games now starting at 1:00 PM CEST on that day.

The Diogo Jota FC Pro World Championship, the biggest EA Sports FC 26 esports tournament, has been delayed because of the PlayStation Network outage.

Thousands of gamers worldwide have been impacted by PlayStation Network outages, leaving them unable to log in or access their digital games.

And this has also prevented pro EA FC 26 players from practising before competing in the $1m+ tournament at the Esports World Cup.

As a result, day three of the FC Pro Championship has been delayed, with no timeframe given as to when matches may resume.

FC Pro World Championship 2026 Delayed

Day 3 of the FC Pro World Championship has been delayed to “ensure competitors have ample time to warm up and prepare as usual.”

While EA FC can be played locally, players can’t use their squads from the exclusively online Ultimate Team mode, which professional play uses.

The statement from the Esports Foundation claims the “tournament will be live soon,” but there has been no update on when.

So far, the servers have been down for over three hours and, at the time of writing, Sony has not commented on the outage.

Today, July 24, was supposed to be the final day of the League Stage, whittling the 36 players down to 24 before the Playoffs.

Currently, Levy ‘levyfinn’ Rieck and Matías ‘Bonanno’ Bonanno sit at the top of the standings, having won all four of their matches so far.

The top eight will get to skip straight to the Round of 16, missing a few of the knockout rounds and guaranteeing at least $40k in prize money.

The tournament is scheduled to end this weekend on Sunday, July 26, but the network delays now put that at risk.
